Cooling tower PP round packing is an important component in cooling towers. It is made of polypropylene (PP), a thermoplastic resin with excellent heat resistance and chemical stability. The PP round packing is usually in the form of a honeycomb structure, which can increase the contact area between water and air. It has several advantages, such as high heat dissipation efficiency, low air resistance, good water and air distribution performance, and the ability to cut bubbles. These features enable it to effectively enhance the heat exchange process in cooling towers, thereby improving the cooling effect.

PP material has good high-temperature resistance and can withstand relatively high temperatures. The temperature range for domestic PP packing is generally 0–80℃, while that for imported PP packing can reach 0–100℃. In contrast, PVC packing has a temperature range of 0–60℃. Under high-temperature conditions, PP packing performs more stably.
PP material has excellent resistance to chemical corrosion and can withstand a variety of acids and alkalis. In chemical industries and high-temperature circulating water systems where high corrosion resistance is required, PP packing performs very well. In comparison, although PVC packing also has certain corrosion resistance, PP packing is superior in extremely acidic or alkaline environments.
PP packing has a low density, around 0.9 g/cm³, which makes it lighter in the same volume, facilitating transportation and installation. At the same time, PP packing has good mechanical strength and hardness and is less likely to deform during use. In contrast, PVC packing has a density of about 1.4 g/cm³, which is relatively heavier, and it may become brittle at low temperatures.
The smooth surface of PP packing is less likely to accumulate scale, making it easier to clean. This allows PP packing to maintain better heat exchange performance over long-term use and reduces maintenance costs. In contrast, PVC packing has a relatively rough surface, which is more prone to scaling and requires more frequent cleaning.
PP packing has a longer service life and can adapt to complex operating environments. Due to its high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and scale resistance, PP packing can maintain stable performance over long-term use, reducing the frequency of replacement. In contrast, PVC packing is more likely to age in high-temperature or highly corrosive environments, resulting in a shorter service life.
