This is the most fundamental function of drift eliminators. During the operation of a cooling tower, the airflow will carry a large number of tiny water droplets to escape (namely "drift loss"). With a tortuous flow channel design, the drift eliminator forces the water-laden airflow to change direction multiple times. Under inertia, the water droplets collide with the inner walls, coalesce and flow back into the tower. High-quality drift eliminators can control the drift loss rate at an extremely low level of 0.001%–0.01%, which significantly cuts down water supplement costs, especially in water-scarce areas.
Cooling water is usually supplemented with chemical agents such as corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, and biocides. Without a drift eliminator, these chemical-containing water droplets will drift outward, contaminating surrounding soil and vegetation, as well as corroding nearby equipment, buildings, and pipelines. Drift eliminators can effectively intercept such water droplets, avoiding secondary pollution and corrosion risks.
The flow channel design of drift eliminators takes ventilation resistance into account. A reasonable structure will not excessively increase the load of the cooling tower fan, thus preventing a rise in energy consumption. Meanwhile, it can block external debris (such as leaves and dust) from entering the cooling tower, reducing the probability of filler blockage and pipeline scaling, and indirectly extending the overall service life of the cooling tower.
Environmental regulations in many regions set clear limits on cooling tower drift loss. Drift eliminators help enterprises meet these standards and avoid penalties for non-compliance. In addition, they reduce the humidity around cooling towers, lowering the risk of Legionella and other pathogenic microorganisms breeding and spreading, which is in line with hygiene and safety requirements.

PT is an excellent domestic manufacturer of cooling tower parts. Since its establishment in 2009, PT has always adhered to the concept of "long-lasting quality and endless innovation".PT company produce various cooling tower drift eliminators: S-type, M-type, Marley drift eliminator, Evapco drift eliminator, the materials include PVC ,PP and FRP .
Products are exported worldwide, especially to the Southeast Asian market.
